The pro-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) encircled the Constitution Court Tuesday morning, prompting a switch of the venue for announcing the result of the political parties dissolution case to the Administrative Court.
Red-shirted UDD members amassed at the Constitutional Court to prevent the announcement of the court resolution on whether to dissolve People Power, Chart Thai and Matchimathipataya parties. Using loud speaker trucks, the group criticised the work of constitutional court judges, especially that of Charan Pakdeetanakul. UDD core figures were not present at the site.
Police closed down road traffic around the court in response to the demonstration. Some UDD members unsuccessfully tried to break through metal fencing put up by a combined force of police and military officials guarding the court compound.
Court officials said the constitutional court judges would instead announce their resolution at the Administrative Court. |
